Government Sales Manager – IT / CPaaS Solutions

We are seeking a highly driven and strategic Government Sales Manager to spearhead our engagement with central and state government bodies, PSUs, and public sector stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have experience in selling IT, messaging, or CPaaS solutions to government clients and a strong network within key government departments. This role focuses on driving revenue growth, solution positioning, RFP handling, and compliance in the public sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Government Business Development:
  • Identify, engage, and develop relationships with key government agencies, departments, and PSUs.
  • Drive end-to-end sales cycles including lead generation, proposal development, pricing negotiation, and contract closure.
  • Map relevant government tenders, RFPs, and empanelment opportunities.
  • Strategic Account Management:
  • Maintain and grow relationships with existing government accounts.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams (tech, product, legal) to deliver customized solutions for public sector clients.
  • Solution Selling & Technical Understanding:
  • Position CPaaS, messaging, and enterprise communication tools (SMS, voice, email, WhatsApp APIs, etc.) as effective citizen engagement and e-governance solutions.
  • Collaborate with pre-sales to craft tailored proposals and presentations.
  • Compliance & Documentation:
  • Ensure adherence to government procurement policies, pricing compliance, and security regulations (e.g., MeitY guidelines, data residency).
  • Manage documentation, vendor registrations, empanelment, and onboarding processes.
  • Industry & Market Intelligence:
  • Monitor policy changes, upcoming projects, and emerging trends in digital governance, smart cities, and ICT adoption.
  • Represent the organization at relevant government forums, expos, and conferences.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or IT; MBA preferred.
  • 5+ years in B2G (Business-to-Government) sales in IT, telecom, CPaaS, or related industries.
  • Proven track record in handling government RFPs and securing large deals.
  • Strong understanding of government procurement cycles, GeM, and e-tendering platforms.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to travel across regions for client meetings and government interactions.
